Ibis is an international hotel company, owned by Accor hotels. It has 800 hotels in 40 countries around the world, with over 370 in France and most of the remainder elsewhere in Europe. The hotels are generally close to city centres, airports or rail stations, offering budget rates.
The first Ibis opened in Bordeaux in 1974, while the newest Ibis hotel (the 900th) opened January 2011.

They are in Accor's middle range of hotels and unlike the economy hotels such as Formule 1 and Etap, offer 24 hour reception. The room offers a bathroom and toilet, a desk, a double or two single beds, wardrobe space, and international and local channels on the television. The hotel sometimes includes a restaurant or bar offering food in the early evening (18:00-22:00), and in some hotels a 24 hour snack menu is offered. Generally, the Ibis hotels are seen as budget hotels, so Accor is endeavouring to change this by advertising all the hotel's achievements and highlighting their satisfaction guarantee.

KEY TASKS
  • Reporting directly to the Front Office Manager, the Front Office Supervisor is responsible for assisting Front Office Manager in the overall day-to-day operations of the hotel whilst on duty. 
  • At all times the Front Office Supervisor is expected to lead by example - their behavior, speech and appearance must be without fault. 
  • Front Office Supervisor treatment of staff must be courteous and discretionary. 
  • Front Office Supervisor guest service standards must be the benchmark that sets the levels to be attained by all hotel staff. To be responsible and accountable, under the direction of the Front Office Manager, for the efficient overall day-to-day operations of Ibis whilst on duty. Front Office Supervisor are to maintain the highest standard of guest service and satisfaction. 
  • To be responsible for energizing team spirit and motivation in all staff. They must also be fair and just in any staff disciplinary action required.
  • Direct the Front Office Operation on the absence of the Front Office Leader
  • To assist all area in the Front Office Department. As required. (i.e.: Operator, Reservations, Reception, Concierge)

KEY TASKS
  • As the manager in charge of a team of sales executives, the Sales Manager:
  • Promotes sales through the recruitment and training of staff and the fixing of their targets.
  • Monitors and motivates the sales force through participative management.

  • Develops the sales strategy for his or her sector in accordance with sales department policy.
