PT. EASTERN PEARL FLOUR MILLS (EPFM) was established in March 1982 under the name pt. berdikari sari utama flour mills. However our history and experience in the flour industry goes way back to 1972, when the company, the name PT. Prima Indonesia, took over the operations of a flour-milling factory managed by a foreign investment company. EPFM is located in Makassar, Indonesia's 4th largest city located on the island of Sulawesi in the eastern half of archipelago.
After more than 30 years of experience in flour manufacturing, the company has become one of the foremost producers of flour in Indonesia with product distributed throughout the nation. The current grain-milling capacity of our factories has reached 2800 metric tons of wheat flour per day. In addition to wheat flour, the factory also produce by-products such as industrial flour, mainly used for plywood glues and pellet mostly exported to Asian countries, such as Vietnam and Korea.
In early 2002, in order to continue operation and fulfill the need for wheat flour in Indonesia, the company became part of Interflour Group, the largest producer of wheat flour in Asia Pacific region with 7 production, loading and storage facilities in Southeast Asia.
In line with its business development strategy, in November 2005 the company changed its name to PT. Eastern Pearl Flour Mills reflecting a more international image without letting go of its roots in eastern Indonesia. This name change also market the strategic partnership entered with CBH Group (Cooperative Bulk Handling), a grain-based organization in Western Australia. CBH Groups managed the most sophisticated storage and handling network in the world.
